WAP Access
Ever been frustrated by not
being able to quickly check our horse racing website? Well why not consider accessing our mobile phone WAP pages - this is a FREE service to subscribers and is easy to use, quick and not expensive to access!
WAP hasn't really take off in Australia, but I
think if you take the effort to set this up, you will find it very convenient.
At least when you want to have a punt and unable to access the website. The URL
takes a few minutes to type into your mobile, but once you save it as a
bookmark, it's easy to access from then on (just a click). Data appears as

If you own a
mobile phone newer than 2005 and it is not WAP enabled (for GPRS) just call your
provider's helpdesk and they will set ip up in seconds.
The costs are very cheap to operate and you can access anywhere - even
at the races! For example, each race will cost about 1/2 cent to down load. Once
they are downloaded, it will stay on your phone all day. As at 1/1/2008, Vodafone
charged a minimum fee of 33 cents (flag fall) for about 60 races which will cover most
meetings. A Saturday or Sunday may cost twice this.
FYI, each race is roughly 250 bytes or 4 races per Kilobyte
and a kilobyte at Vodafone is 2.2 cents (after flag fall).

The screen on the mobile
phone is small so we have left the detail to the bare minimum. It
shows the meeting, ratings and Confidence rating (Extract from standard print report). It includes the data time (just in case you want
to reload later). The QLD race start time (e.g. EASTERN TIME, with no DLS)
and the QLD TAB code. It also includes a code [IF] if the race has insufficient
runners and the number of horses in the race (e.g. (8) means 8 horses in race after KNOWN scratchings). A Later version will present your standard time.
The WAP Service also includes FREE WAP SPECIALS (if any) exclusive to the WAP
service
